Independent builder · computational biology · AI

Help me build what comes next with a machine I can grow with.

I have ideas I want to turn into real, testable software, not just diagrams or notes. I am raising $5,546.00 for a Framework development laptop that I can repair, upgrade, and keep building on for years.

Why I am asking
One machine.
A lot more room to build.

I am not asking for a laptop just because I want a faster computer. I want a dependable local workstation for structural biology workflows, scientific software, benchmarking, data processing, visualization, containers, notebooks, and AI-assisted research.

Why this matters to me

I want to spend less time working around hardware limits and more time testing ideas.

“I am already doing the work. I want a machine that gives me enough room to take the ideas further.”
, Yuvraj

I have been working through computational biology, structural modeling, AI evaluation, scientific workflows, and ways to make complex biological information easier to explore. I have already been running local structural and computational experiments on the hardware I have. Some of that work is already public in the Yauvi Structural Workbench repository.

The next step is not to buy a computer and hope something happens. It is to give myself a stronger development environment where I can iterate faster, keep more work local, compare methods, reproduce results, and turn the projects below into usable software.

I chose Framework because repairability and upgradeability fit the way I want to work: improve the machine as the projects grow instead of treating the entire computer as disposable.

Input

Repairable local compute

Development, containers, models, datasets, visualization.
→
Process

Build + test + benchmark

Try ideas, find failures, compare methods, document results.
→
Output

Real technical artifacts

Software, benchmarks, visualizations, methods, and research writeups.
What I want to push forward

Three projects I want to keep pushing forward.

These are ambitious projects. I do not want to pretend an idea is proven before it has been tested. Better infrastructure gives me more room to build carefully, compare results, find failures, and figure out what is actually worth taking further.

01 / SIMULATION
MARSE

Microbial Adaptability Resource Engine

A long-term simulation environment for exploring microbial colonies, biofilms, and human-cell interactions, with the goal of connecting multiscale biological behavior to questions involving immune interactions, binding, and eventually vaccine-design research.

  • Microbial and biofilm simulation
  • Human-cell interaction scenarios
  • Multiscale modeling experiments
  • Visualization and analysis pipelines
  • Future molecular-dynamics integration
02 / STRUCTURE + PATHWAYS
Yauvi Structural Workbench

From protein structure to biological context

A workbench for bringing structural evidence, pathway relationships, epitopes, biological context, and immunological accessibility into one place instead of treating each output as an isolated result.

View Yauvi on GitHub ↗
  • Structural-biology workflow integration
  • Pathway and interaction mapping
  • Epitope location and accessibility
  • Cross-tool evidence comparison
  • Interactive scientific inspection
03 / VALIDATION
Yauvi Benchmark

Make the tools prove themselves

A benchmark and reproducibility effort that asks a simple question: when computational or AI-assisted methods make a claim, can we reproduce it against known scientific cases and understand where the method fails?

  • Known-case benchmark suites
  • Cross-method comparisons
  • Reproducibility testing
  • Error and failure analysis
  • Transparent result reporting
What better local hardware changes

It does not make the science better by itself. It gives me more room to test it.

A stronger computer does not make an idea correct. What it can do is make it easier for me to run the experiments, compare approaches, reproduce results, and find out when I am wrong.

Run more locally

Keep early experiments, code, models, and datasets on my own machine when practical.

Iterate faster

Build, debug, profile, rerun, and compare workflows without constantly shrinking the experiment.

Reproduce results

Maintain stable environments for notebooks, containers, scientific packages, and benchmark suites.

Grow instead of replace

Upgrade memory, storage, and components over time instead of throwing away the whole system.

The exact machine

You can inspect the configuration yourself.

I want this request to be concrete. The Framework link below is the actual configuration I am targeting, not a generic laptop page.

  • Total campaign target: $5,546.00
  • Repairable and upgradeable platform
  • Built to serve as a long-term development workstation
  • Used across MARSE, Yauvi Structural Workbench, Yauvi Benchmark, and future research tooling
Keeping it simple

What your support means, and what it does not.

If you choose to help, you are helping me fund a development machine for my independent work. I am not selling equity, investment returns, access, services, products, or ownership in any project.

No equity You do not receive an ownership stake, revenue share, or investment return.
No IP rights You do not receive ownership, a license, exclusivity, or any claim over my current or future work.
No project control Support does not create governance rights or a right to direct the research or roadmap.
No promised service This is not a consulting contract, presale, loan, or promise that I will perform work for you.

A note on taxes and legal status

This is a personal funding campaign, not a charity. I am not representing payments as tax-deductible charitable donations. The tax treatment of crowdfunding can depend on the facts and circumstances, including whether someone expects goods, services, or another benefit in return. I will keep records of funds received and how they are used. Any separate investment, employment, licensing, or consulting relationship would require its own written agreement.

If you want to help

You can help with a small part of the machine, or the whole thing.

The goal is straightforward: fund the Framework setup so I have a stronger, durable environment to build and test this work. If contributing is not for you, sharing the page with someone who supports independent technical builders also helps.

Support does not create equity, IP rights, repayment rights, project-control rights, or an obligation for future services.
